The fifth course of the LadeLernTOOL – a digital learning platform for municipal employees – was published today. The e-learning tool from the National Centre for Charging Infrastructure supports municipalities in establishing charging infrastructure.

The new course entitled “Electrification of the municipal vehicle fleet” (“Elektrifizierung des kommunalen Fuhrparks”) deals with key topics relating to the conversion of municipal vehicles to battery-electric drives and is divided into three modules. These include the strategic planning of fleet electrification, the vehicle charging infrastructure, as well as covering aspects of integrating electric vehicles into the fleet.

Courses 1 to 4 of the LadeLernTOOL provide basic knowledge on the topics of electric mobility and charging infrastructure and emphasise the central role of the municipalities in the development of charging infrastructure. Users are given an overview of the instruments available to municipalities, various procurement models and the legal framework for setting up charging infrastructure. Each course concludes with a test and the acquisition of a certificate. Further courses will follow.

The fifth course is a joint project of the National Centre for Charging Infrastructure and NOW GmbH’s electric mobility team developed on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport.

The LadeLernTOOL can be used free of charge at www.ladelerntool.de after a short registration process. Using interactive learning units, municipal employees acquire the necessary knowledge and consolidate it through practice-orientated exercises.

Alongside the StandortTOOL and FlächenTOOL, the LadeLernTOOL is one of the key support tools for municipalities that the National Centre for Charging Infrastructure bring together in the TOOLBox.

On behalf of the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport, the National Centre for Charging Infrastructure supports and accompanies the activities to expand the charging infrastructure in Germany under the umbrella of the federally owned NOW GmbH. We support the planning, implementation and promotion of charging infrastructure. We collect relevant data in order to better understand the demand for charging points. We network all key players and pass on our knowledge. We ensure that we always have the users in mind.
