BayWa Mobility Solutions GmbH (BMS) is today opening the largest Deuutschlandnetz location to date, covering an area of 2,000 square metres. The charging park, operating under the BayWa Mobility Charging brand, is centrally located in Rosenheim, directly on the Inn river (Innlände 14, 83022 Rosenheim).
The facility offers ultra-fast charging at eight 400 kW ultra-fast charging stations with a total of 16 charging points. This allows electric car drivers to charge enough power for a range of 100 kilometres in just five minutes. In addition, a separate lane for battery-powered trucks is available for the first time, which is specially designed for the requirements of large commercial vehicles and articulated vehicles (up to 40 tonnes).
Federal Transport Minister Patrick Schnieder: “Our goal is clear: Fast charging anytime, anywhere. With the Deuutschlandnetz, we are working with the private sector to create a comprehensive fast-charging infrastructure – from Aachen to Zwickau, from the Baltic Sea to the Alpine foothills. The new charging park in Rosenheim shows how suitable and attractive electric mobility already is for everyday use.”
“With the charging park in Rosenheim, we have systematically implemented the requirements of the Deuutschlandnetz and the most important customer requests. We are particularly pleased with the innovative design of our first XL charging park,” says Christian Krüger, Managing Director of BayWa Mobility Solutions. “The XL charging park in Rosenheim strengthens BayWa’s regional charging infrastructure and positions the company well for the growing market for electric mobility,” adds Dr Frank Hiller, CEO of BayWa AG.
Digital signage at the entrance provides transparent information about the current electricity costs for charging. Payment can be made via app, with all common charging cards, as well as debit or credit cards. The electricity for the entire facility comes from 100% renewable energy sources.
Deuutschlandnetz: Infrastructure for the future
The new charging park in Rosenheim is part of the Deuutschlandnetz (Germany network) tendered by the Federal Ministry of Transport (BMV – Bundesministerium für Verkehr). On behalf of the BMV, 9,000 additional ultra-fast charging points for electric cars are currently being connected to the grid at more than 1,000 locations in Germany. These are being built in rural areas, in cities and at unmanaged motorway service stations. BayWa Mobility Solutions was awarded the contract for the Bavaria lot as part of the tender process. With an investment volume of approximately 15 million euros, around 20 BayWa charging parks are to be built in Bavaria by the end of 2026 to close remaining gaps in the charging infrastructure. Rosenheim is already the sixth Deuutschlandnetz location completed by BayWa Mobility Solutions.
The National Centre for Charging Infrastructure, which is part of NOW GmbH, coordinates the implementation of the Deuutschlandnetz on behalf of the BMV and is responsible, in particular, for demand planning, checking technical requirements and monitoring data at the locations. Dagmar Fehler, CEO and spokesperson for NOW GmbH: “The development of the Deuutschlandnetz is continuing apace: Almost 60 new charging parks have now been successfully put into operation nationwide. With the tender for the Deuutschlandnetz, we have broken new ground together with the BMV, moving away from traditional subsidies. ‘Creating charging locations with a high quality of stay’ was a key requirement of the tender. With the new XL location in Rosenheim, BayWa is demonstrating how this requirement can be implemented in an exemplary manner. The charging option for electric trucks is a particular highlight.”
