Pfalzwerke currently opens largest Deutschlandnetz fast-charging park in Göppingen
On Tuesday, 27.05.2025, Pfalzwerke Aktiengesellschaft opened Germany's largest network charging park to date in Göppingen. At the location „Am Hohenstaufenblick 1, 73035 Göppingen“ - in the parking lot of the vocational school center and in the immediate vicinity of the B10 - Pfalzwerke now offers convenient and barrier-free charging options for electric vehicles as well as user-friendly services at six fast-charging stations and twelve charging points.
In September 2023, Pfalzwerke was awarded the contract by the Federal Ministry of Transport (BMV) for the Göppingen search area, among others, to build a fast-charging park in Göppingen. Together with the city of Göppingen, a location was sought that was conveniently located and attractive for e-car drivers. The construction phase lasted from December 2024 to May 2025.
With the German network, the BMV is creating 9,000 additional fast-charging points at over 1,000 locations in rural regions, cities and unmanaged highway service stations across Germany. The aim is to provide a nationwide, user-friendly fast-charging infrastructure.
Building Mayor Eva Noller: „The opening of the Deutschlandnetz charging park is an important step for sustainable mobility in our region. Electromobility plays a central role in the transport transition and is helping to make Göppingen sustainable and environmentally friendly. With modern charging infrastructure, we are creating the necessary conditions to get more people excited about climate-friendly mobility and increase the quality of life in our city.“
Florian Dommel, Head of E-Mobility at Pfalzwerke: „We are firmly convinced that electromobility is a key component of sustainable mobility. We are proud to be part of the expansion of the German network and to make our contribution to the nationwide availability of charging options. Our common goal is to make electric mobility accessible, convenient and reliable:“
Pfalzwerke is contributing to the realization of the German network with around 400 new charging points at 40 locations. The company already operates a nationwide network with more than 1,750 charging points at over 420 locations.
The National Charging Infrastructure Control Center coordinates the implementation of the German network under the umbrella of NOW GmbH and is responsible in particular for demand planning, checking technical requirements and data monitoring of the locations.
